Morgan Stanley published a breakdown this month putting 2027 AI-related capital expenditure at $1.58 trillion, led by Alphabet, Amazon, Meta and Microsoft, and named five sub-sectors as beneficiaries: Semiconductors & Servers, International Supply Chain, U.S. Memory & Storage, Networking & Optical Communications, and Data Center Infrastructure. 58 companies are named across those five categories plus the funding side.
53 of those 58 are already live in our map today.
Where Morgan Stanley's $1.58T is projected to go, and how much of each category we track:
Semiconductors & Servers — $672B. NVIDIA, AMD, Broadcom, Marvell, Dell, TD SYNNEX, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Synopsys, Cadence. All 9 tracked.
International Supply Chain — $511B. Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, Foxconn, Quanta, Nokia, MediaTek tracked; Eoptolink, Zhongji Innolight and Wistron are not, all three foreign-listed with no U.S. ticker.
U.S. Memory & Storage — $217B. Seagate, Western Digital, SanDisk, Micron, and Everpure. All 5 tracked.
Networking & Optical Communications — $215B. Cisco, Celestica, Ciena, Arista, Coherent, Lumentum, Corning, Applied Optoelectronics. All 8 tracked.
Data Center Infrastructure — $119B. 18 of 19 tracked: Carrier, Caterpillar, Cummins, Eaton, GE Vernova, Johnson Controls, Trane, Vertiv, Bloom Energy, INNIO, EMCOR, Hubbell, Comfort Systems USA, Everus Construction, MasTec, Legence, ERock and Forgent Power Solutions. Only Peruvian Metals Corp is out, correctly, since despite the name it's Canadian (TSXV-listed), not American.
The five sub-sector figures above add up to $1.734 trillion, not the $1.58 trillion headline. That mismatch is in Morgan Stanley's own chart, not something we introduced. The $1.58T figure matches the funding side instead, what the hyperscalers themselves are spending, not the sum of where the money goes.
This whole breakdown is its own section on the Cross-Universe page, Capex Intelligence, sitting below our weekly auto-generated Connection Map. Every sub-sector is its own card with the dollar figure and every mapped ticker as a clickable chip. Click one and the full company drawer opens right there: live price, AI Purity score, supply chain connections, the works, without leaving the page.
This is what we do with every major sector report that names specific companies: map it onto the real tickers, verify each one actually trades where it's supposed to, and put it somewhere you can click through live instead of reading it as a static chart.
