One glance, the whole AI economy: how the AI Universe Heatmap actually works

Checking individual stocks tells you what happened to that stock. It doesn't tell you whether the move is isolated or part of something bigger -- a whole layer of a supply chain moving together, or money rotating out of one part of the AI economy into another. That's the problem the AI Universe Heatmap on your AI007 homepage is built to solve.

The idea behind it

AI007 doesn't track the AI economy as a flat list of tickers -- it maps it as a supply chain. Every company sits in a specific layer: rare earth miners feed chemical suppliers, who feed chip fabs, who feed GPU designers, who feed hyperscalers, who feed the application layer on top. Every company on AI007 is wired to the real companies upstream and downstream of it. The heatmap is that structural map, made live -- instead of reading it as a static diagram, you see which layers of the chain are actually hot or cold today.

What it actually shows

Every tile is a layer, and its color and size do two different jobs. Green means the companies in that layer are up on average, red means down. How saturated the color is reflects the size of that average move, not direction -- a deep red tile moved further than a pale one. Hover any tile for the layer's description, its company count, and its single best and worst mover for the day.

What you actually gain from it -- beyond "what's moving now"

  • A feel for where in the chain the action is. Upstream layers (miners, materials) and downstream layers (hyperscalers, app platforms) rarely move for the same reason. Seeing raw materials flat while compute and infrastructure run hot -- or the reverse -- tells you something about what kind of move this is, before you've read a single headline.
  • A read on how broad a move is. Flip between the AI Chain, Physical AI, Space Tech, Crypto, Commodities, AI Healthcare and ETF tabs. If green shows up across several unrelated universes at once, that's more likely a macro, risk-on day. If it's concentrated in one universe or even one layer, that's a theme-specific story worth digging into.
  • Discovery you wouldn't get from a watchlist. With 180+ companies spread across seven universes, the heatmap surfaces moves in layers you weren't actively watching -- a uranium layer spiking on a day you only had chip stocks open, for instance.
  • A fast on-ramp to deeper research. A tile that stands out is a starting point, not an endpoint -- hover for the best/worst mover, then open that company to see its actual upstream/downstream connections, or cross-check the move against the Layer Rotation and Confluence Engine tools for the quantitative rotation story behind it.

Where to find it

It's the first thing you see on the AI007 homepage, refreshed through the trading day and timestamped in ET. No setup, no configuration -- just open the app.
